schedule D questions

本人hold的一只股票09年内被别的公司买下，因而连ticker symbol也变了。请问这可不可以算作 sale of the 我原有的股？ 我想多半 schedule D不能当sale event, 但我不是很确定。 我知到1099里并不算此事作一次sale event, 也没给proceed. 查了半天schedule D instruction, 还是不懂。
