Usually I'm not quite interested in topics here, but this time I'd rather remind some points as I don't want to see any individuals(most Chinese as I) are midleaded...
1)The author just touched some surfaces of trading by big funds,but it seems he doesn't understand essentials deeply. Actually any derivative instrument are very basic tools for speculation or hedging...Give you one questions here: if you're given 5 Bi fund, how to dump index? Just by selling? That's wrong...
2)Better to understand deeply on interest rate. How many factors influence interest rate? How does the rate influence on global financial mkt? It's better if you can understand more on international financial mkt, fixed income mkt,interest rate modeling and arbitrage....
I don't get time to say much here, but just remind everyone to read and understand any articles by yourself...Good luck!
