1. his skill level and physical condition. what has he done before?

2. what kind of ladder do you have?

3. the ground around the house, whether it is safe to set up ladder.

Please make him understand that if you are not very comfortable with it then he should not do it (AND THIS APPLIES to OTHER THINGS TOO...)
