我也年轻和一无所有过，但不会是这个样子。about 15+ years ago, we offered sellers to buy their property not listed in the market, about $2M, we had formal PA written by an agent, sellers signed and later asked for more money or cancel, we were okay, my agent told us if we wanted the house, we can sue. I said: no, good faith is worth a lot, we offered to buy, sellers did not market to sell, if they were not ready to sell, be it, in moral world, we have no ground to sue.
