currently, AMEX has a promotion going, transferring AMEX reward points to British Airways or Iberia, with 30% bonus.

BA Avios is a good way to book AA flights， Iberia avios usually best use them to book its own flights from US to Madrid for as low as 34k miles in Biz class (low season, 50k in high season), that is saying you can technically book a RT ticket to Spain and back in Biz class for 53k AMEX points, cheaper than Econ class if you pay cash.
