请教柠檬大侠和各位地主，房屋出租合同中有这么1句，啥意思啊？

看网上个出租房子签约合同范本里面有这么1句
“NOW, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the sum of TEN DOLLARS ($10.00), the
covenants and obligations contained herein and other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and
sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, the parties hereto hereby agree as follows:。。。“

不明白也不理解，这$10.00是啥意思，干嘛用的啊？ 是签约合同时双方谁付这个？
