撸卡人生：AlaskaAir US to Taipei 25k miles oneway on Cathay Pacific, with stop over in Hong Kong, so if you only want to go to Hong Kong, you can skip the last leg, lol.

or Alsaska allows up to 14 days on a stopover, so you technically can stay in Hong Kong or even go to china then back to HongKong within that time frame and continue to Taipei.
