请教CONDO 室外空调机的”纠纷“

请教大家： 我们的一个CONDO，前房主七年前装了一个室外空调机，当时有报HOA和property management team，但是现在没有approved architecture application document 证明这个是批准了的， 太久了找不到了。现在property management 来信说这个是 violation，要求拆除。我应该怎么回复？可以想到如下：

（1） 要求他们出示文件规定条款，说明为什么这个是违反规定？

（2） 要求他们协助查询过往的application记录，看能不能查到批准记录?

(3) 请求 file  one new architecture change applicaiton for this old AC unit?

大家有什么建议？ 是不是不能和他们搞僵了，最坏的情况就是老老实实拆了？
