So the 'Automatic Revalidation' can't be applied for Canadian PR, even he/she is an H-1B holder. Canadian PR must use a nonimmigrant visa (such as H-1B) to enter the US.

One of my friend (a Canadian PR) has the same experience (only once) to ask for get a visa to re-enter US, although many times she used 'Automatic Revalidation' to re-enter the US from Canada.

After I told her my experience this time, she agreed that many times she could use I-94 (Automatic Revalidation) were because of the US border officer's carelessness.
