is importing so expensive

I got one cm used personal books, trying to bring them from Beijing to the US using 海运拼箱 . Here is what i have to pay for

1. 2600 RMB to the company in China side

2. Invoice from US company:

 warehouse: 49

handling charge: 75

clean truck fee: 5

pierpass charge: 6

ams: 25

x-ray: 6

customs clearance fee: 100

duty:2

bond:65

isf filing:50

isf bond: 75

total: $458

 

This is only in the west coast (LA), I would more charges for the transportation and delivery.

Is this normal?  how does the importing business work here?
