Trademark infringement may happen even if there is no logo. In US, trademark protection is very broad, including something called "trade dress" protection. "Trade Dress" is something very fluid and subjective, basically can be defined by the trademark holder.

Payless was ordered to pay Adidas more than $300 Million 2 years ago not because they sold fake Adidas, none of their shoes had 3 stripes. but they still infringe because their shoes has 2 or 4 stripes.
