for example: (maybe not the best example)
axe. assume all trees are the same size.
for $100, you should be able to cut 100 trees before you throw the axe away. If you can't cut 100 trees, then your custom will complain. Therefore I can't just change my price from $10 to $100. because it can only cuts 10 trees. but sometimes, a customer doesn't know how many tree it suppose to cut, then we can play a little number games. :)
