After more than 50 years social benefit program,

"一个真正负责任的总统应该去减少国债并坚持平衡预算" is not realistic in US, China or somewhere else, because the design of these entitle programs mostly short sight, not including the changes of population, lifetime.......If you 坚持平衡预算, it must cut of these programs, people will cry and 真正负责任的总统 will be kicked out. Certainly we need reforms in many policies. For example, the immigration policy, many states like CA, increase state tax to support non illegals while let Federal to support such policy (state tax deduction). Why should CA make the state tax so high in the first place?
