个人的呢，我上次看到过一个理论

其实和你说的‘重大决定’有点儿类似：他们把决定分为两类：reversible and irreversible.

如果说好马不吃回头草，那离婚/换工作都算是不可逆的决定。说法是‘可逆决定’应该 try to make a quick decision, based on imperfect data, '不可逆决定' 应该 try to gather more data, and make an informed decision.

另一段看的，说自古至今的小说，大多有一个 common trope: 三段论，
1) hero 需要离开家乡 (放弃他的comfort zone), 
2) hero fight dragons, demons, (himself?)
3) hero return home (back to his comfor zone), but being a better him/herself.

再有，出国时间久了，我真心觉得中国文化最大的缺陷，是小时候教育我们这个“Heads or Tails--影响人一生的决定”一定要谨慎，一定要谨慎，一失足成千古恨。弄得人瞻前顾后。西方的decision cost, 起码教育我们，要小很多。
