Dell all-in-one photo printer 942

Why I can not connect my Dell all-in-one photo printer 942 to my Compaq Laptop, even when I was using original Dell printer install CD?

However, I can use scan function. when I try to use printer, it is shown "no printer driver". Why?

What I should do for that?
