1. Copy all installation files of Windows XP onto drive D.
2. Back up all necessary files.
3. Boot your computer into safe mode.
4. Install Windows XP from drive D. Now you should be able to format drive C.
5. After the installation, delete Windows XP (the running version, not the installation version) from drive D.
