You are on your own to find movies:) Here are what you need to know about playback.

rm, rmvb files, Use free real player 10.

avi files, This can be tricky as avi is a container format that can hold different video/audio formats. It can contain uncompress video, digital video (DV), mpeg4 (divx, xvid, etc.). Install a free mpeg4 codec (divx, xvid, ffdshow) and most likely you'll be fine to watch the video in windows media player. There might be audio problem (no sound) for mpeg4 avi files with ac3 (dolby digital) audio. Install free ac3filter to get sound.

wmv, asf files, Use windows media player.

VCD disc, playback in windows media player

DVD disc, windows media player cannot playback it unless a MPEG-2 codec (usually not free) is installed. Media player classic (MPC) is a free single exe file that can be used to play DVD and a lot of other formats. give it a try.

divx, mpeg4 divx files, windows media player or MPC with any mpeg4 codec installed

mov files, Use free apple QuickTime player

subtitle support for mpeg4 and dvd, download free vobsub
