Help. Lost data. "disk is not formatted" Did I lot all my work on this USB, or there is a way to fix it?

I cannot access an external USB hard disk drive. Error message: the disk in Drive is not formatted.

I use win XP. Used this USB drive last night. Didn’t remove it when I left the computer hibernated, and now I can’t access to the drive.
