请教：怎样能看到QQ里的中文？

我的电脑操作系统是XP Home 能看中文网页也能输入中文，就是看不了QQ里朋友发来的信息，装的一些中文软件也都是乱码。
哪位知道怎么解决这个问题？请赐教. 谢谢！
