Hi Expert, please help me on this:
I am using Win2K Pro. A few days ago I accidentally delete a file from Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs, because it was scripted with a lot of chinese characters. After that, my CD-Rom is disappeared from Device Manager, other functions are lost too. But the Win2k could be started.
I tried to repair it, but CR-Rom is gone so I could not do it through CD-rom. I just bought a new CD-Rom and plugged in. Now I can not start Windows, it says "\WINNT\System32\CONFIG\SYSTEMced is missing or corrupted...", it hangs.
I made sure I set the first boot from CD-ROM in the BIOs. When I put Win2K CD into CD-Rom and reboot, it would not prompt the repair screen and went to the old error screen directly (I think that is because the CD-Rom is not recognizeable).
So how to make the CD-Rom work first? Is it something like CDEXEC(?) I forget the file name that I can set it up fropm A drive?
Thanks for your help if you can...
How to access CD-Rom?
