i lately install a 160GB internal seagate HD and read some article about it. try this link:

in short
-MB should be able to support >137GB
-window XP should be enabled to support >137GB

if you can see correct capacity in BIOS then your BIOS should be ok
normally the software that comes with the HD should help you enable the support in windows.
