叫做processes。在start->run type msconfig.exe (if the OS is XP), you will see startup and services, there are some items that will conume the memory when are selected.

Normally you should cancel realsched, quicktime, adobe, acrotray if any in the startup. leave the items related to anti-virus and firewall intact.

in Service, hide all MS service and see what left. same thing, leave anti-virus and firwall intact and cancel the one that you suspect. If something off normal, recover the item(s).

then download an Ad-aware search and Destroy to scan your C drive to get rid of trojans. In addition, install a firewall if you don't have.
