My ThinkPad T30 is dead

My Windows of my laptop could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \Windows\System32\CONFIG\SYSTEM. The message says " You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original Setup CD-ROM. Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair."
My laptop is IBM ThinkPad T30, I don't have the Setup CD-ROM, neither IBM does. There is one option for me to repair the corrupt is to format the hard disk which I really don't want to. Any master here knows how to repair the system without formatting? Save me, please
