Chinese & Yahoo messenger

I have a computer with OS Window XP, Also I installed Yahoo messenger. I
try to chat with friend in China in Chinese. I type the content in NJStar
and copy/paste to the messenger. the Chinese Characters changed to nonsense
code. Please help me how can I type Chinese in Yahoo messenger.
Also I went to control panel/regional and language to change to Chinese.
It is still not work.
