tested for you:
x1, x2, x3, x4, x5
y1, y2, y3, y4, y5

Step-1
High light to select data set to pivote
Data | Pivote table and Pivote Chart Wizard ...
follow wizard instruction, drag and drop

Step-2
Replace X1, X2 ... with household 1, household 2 ...

If you have a larger data set or frequent tasks
to do so, it is better to load data into SQL server
(or free MSDE).
