Chinese DVD movie

I just got a whole bunch of DVD movies from China. Unfortunately, I could play non of them on my DAV machines (I have two of them). Maybe my DVD machines are not good enough. I'm thinking of buyinh another machine. What kind should I be looking for ? Any ideas?
