Linux 高手请帮忙!!

PC 上装有LIUNX 7.2 系统, 因不慎非正常关机, 现在 LOGGIN 时, GNOME 不能自动启动, 并且LOGGIN 后, 只有一个TEXT 窗口, 非常不便. 敲入 STARTX 命令, 屏幕显示:

Fatal server error:
Can't read lock file /tmp/.x0-lock

When reporting a problem related to a server crash, please send the full server output. not just the last messages. Please report problems to xfree86@xfreex86.org

因PC 上装有其他重要文件, 不想重装, 请教该如何修复, 重新让PC LOGGIN 时, GNOME 自动启动, 或STARTX 命令工作. 谢谢.
