after u connect 2 pc with hub, set 2 pc as 1 workgroup and set user name and pass, use them to log in each from ur network.
if u r talk about hardware, u can use p2p connect, it is easy to , go computer shop and ask for the Pier to Pier cable, u don't even need hub.
