1) start burn with CD-RW that you can format and re-use until you grip the skill.
2) start copy the entire disk instead of making new music or movie.(if you can copy disk to disk, then your burner and media are OK.
3) if your hardware is OK, making music CD is pretty simple, just drag and drop.
4) making VCD, you need to change the file to MPEG format
