DELL pc cannot install Linux

DELl 3000 pc, pre-install WinXP home version (one master hard disk). I buy a new hard disk, install as slave HD. But after I install Linux into the second HD, it does not work. Screen just shows GRUB_ , and stop.

Any one know is there some special for DELL PC? As I check the HD1, it partition into four:
1. DELLUTILITY (*.), FAT, Primary
2. Local Disk (C:), NTFS, Primary
3. Local DIsk (*.), CP/M, Concurrent DOS, CTOS, Primary
4. (*), Unallocated, Primary

I wonder whether above partition prevent me from installing Linux, make PC can not start GRNB normally?
