the yahoo search does go through, i saw it under /windows/system32 with dsound.dll.
I know i can click the checkbox in the zonealarm popup window to permanently forbid its request to access the internet, but i want to know what it is doing first,
should i assume it is a virus thing since no search results returned from either google or yahoo? i update my Norton virus definition every week and do the hard disk scan everyweek, it has been doing that for almost 2 weeks now.

anyone has idea what it is?
