questions about external burne

The cd drive of my laptop is not working well, so I'm thinking about getting an external cd burner. So far I checked amazon and newegg, and I found some interesting products by LaCie, 52x32x52 External Firewire CD-RW Drive P5 for 98 bucks, 8x DVD+/-RW USB2 for 153 dollars, and52x32x52 External USB2.0 CD-RW Drive. Which one is good for me? Please tell me what you think. And also whats the difference between firewire and u*****?
