check your CPU usage first

If you are playing something that needs software decoding, such as MP3 and MPEG, then overloaded CPU can cause jitter.

If this not the case, check your hardware, make sure all the calbe and connectors are connected firmlly.
Try play a CD, usually CD do not need soft decoding.
