Win2K cannot shut down. Help!

My Windows 2000 Professional cannot shut down and power off. Every time when I click "Shut Down", the screen went to dark and blank. The cursor is blinking at the corner, not text or picture displayed. The computer power is still running. Please help me. Thanks.
