ethernet controller?

I format my computer, and reinstall the whole system. But the internet does not work. It shows that the ethernet controller is not properly installed. My computer is Dell Dimension 4550. OS is 2000. I checked those CDs from Dell and Dell website, I do not get any information. Would you please give me some idea? Thanks!
