趁机器没 FROZEN 前赶紧求救！

各位高手，my latop has an annoying problem:

After I surfed on the internet for 30 or 50 minutes, it freezes!
Nothing can do about it except turning off the computer. Then, it will freeze more frequently like every 10 or 20 minutes. It has no such problem as long as I am not on internet.

It is a Compaq Presario 17XL360, PIII 600 MHz, 256MB Ram, 40 GB hard
drive, Windows XP professional just upgraded from Win Me. Someone said 17XL360 is not compatible with Win XP, is this true?
Can anyone please help me and advise how I can solve this problem? Thank
