p4 card is very much like a ID card or credit card which containing the information of what kind of program you paid to directv. Because of it's a memory card, you ( I mean the guy from directv) can reprogarm it and give you some new functions in the services. In the web, there are so many people announce that they can hack the p4 card the give you the free statellite, I think it's little bit risky, but it's you decision. And there are also some cheap p4 for sale, I think they are the produces by the "hacker".
