Call a client program. Urgent!

Sorry I can not type Chinese.
I have a web page has many pictures, when user click the thumnail of a picture, I want a image viewer application like "Image magic" to be called and "Image magic" will be loaded to show the picture instead of showing picture in browser, is it possible? It is very Urgent.Please help!!Thanks a lot!
