last night adobe flash did an auto update, then my screen starte

flickering and eventually went to black.  i hard-shut off and restarted windows the screen was back, but again flicked and became dark (unwakeable).  finally i entered safe mode and did a restore to a day earlier. when back to normal i uninstalled the adobe flash, it has been good since.
now i don't have adobe flash in my system, need to find an alternative. tried 4 common ones (LightSpark, Unity Web Player, GNU Gnash, Silverlight) but none of them satisfactory.
