difference. 8 bits = 1 byte. If you're talking about bytes, then your DSL speed is very fast. By default Winxp likes to reserve 20% bandwidth. You can free up those bandwidth by changing the settings. There is an article, which shows you how to do it, on this forum. However, I think your main problem is your distance away from the DSL station. Oh well, your other option would be pay $25 more to use cable internet service.
