I use rabbit ear with 40dB amplifier inside the attic. Put on extra 20ft of copper wire as if can boost the total area. :) Can get all local English channels. HDTV with 10dB 20dB gain doesn't perform as good!
Recommend to buy Moto RF amplifer no matter you use HDTV antenna or rabbit ear.
