XP pro for XP home, OK?

My laptop is dead, needs OS re-installation

It's Dell Inspiron E1405, came with XP home.  But I only have XP pro CD.  Will it work? I have not tried, because I am waiting to replace the DVD-rom, but wonder if I also need XP home disk.
