I have an emachine with one 40G hard drive. Operating system is xp home. runs very well and fast. Then I installed an old hard drive: Maxtor (Model # 90845D4), about 2G, as the slave hard drive, and installed Red Hat Linux 8.0 on it, using GRUB as boot loader. It WORKS !!! NOw it lets me to choose which os to boot from. except that when I get into Linux, every operation becomes extreamly slow, that I cann't bear it.
My question is:
What is the speed limiting part?
1. the old hard drive,
2. the hard drive is a slave ?
3. 2 G is too small for Linux? I installed some GUI user interface
Thanks a lot.
Why second operating system
