for ms moviemaker, you need to download the latest version so that you can select the capture quality. the best quality that moviemaker can capture is just okay.
i also tried pinnacle studio 9, which allows you to capture video with dvd quality. you can get one from edonkey. the trick is you need to select "uk english".
