which laptop to buy

Please recommend a good laptop. I want to buy an i-5 processor laptop 15.6'' screen, don't need bluray.

Saw a Dell Inspiron 15R at Costco and another Toshiba one with similar features (but has 4GB Mem vs. Dell has 6GB mem) and prices. Can't decide which one to buy. Read some online reviews from all sources, seems Dell's quality is very inconsistent. Some broke in few days to few months. Toshiba seems have higher quality. But have some bad reviews too and some recall in chips. How about Acer or HP? Maybe they all pretty much the same just depends on the luck? I want a long lasting one.
