one question about netgear router

Hi, as an aged doctor, I am not familiar with the sophisticated computer-related technology.

I bought a Netgear WNR1000 router last week. It kept losing wireless connection in the past one week. So I went back to that store and exchanged another copy. This copy worked smoothly yesterday but started having the same problem since lunch time today. My computer almost lost wireless connect every 5/10 minutes. I did power on/off several times but didn't help at all. The cable connection from the same router looks quite stable.

Is this purely my bad luck? Or there is any timeout configurations that I am not aware of?
