dead Word 2000, need help!

Hi! my LG's computer got a weird problem recently. Whenever we want to open or start a word file, it can't be initiated and the computer dies. I've tried to replace the whole folder of office with the one in another computer, but it just doesn't work. He's very busy now, and has to work on his computer after work. Could anybody here give us suggestions? Your kindness will be very appreciated.

(We can't afford the expensive software.)
