W2K and IE errors

Hi Guru,
I have this problem for a long time on my both PCs - I am running W2K Pro with all available patches and Internet Explorer 6.0.28. From time to time IE is suddenly closed oout without notice that whatever I was doing will be lost. I tried to search the solutions from web, but no luck. Does any one know how to fix it? Thanks.
