An advanced question, I think?

I want install XP to a USB external HD from scratch without any internal HD. I got an error , something like "No Hard Driver detected", after I boot from XP CD. My motherboard is intel D865GBF. I tried to install third part drivers while installing, but I do not know what kind of driver needed for this and where to get it(looks like it is not in the MB CD).

What should I do?
