SInce you are doing programming, you will very soon hate the 16:9 ratio of the screen. Better get the larger screen to get ease on your eyes.

Or better yet, find an used IBM/Lenovo T60 4:3 screen for $300. Pretty much you won't regret for anything that is "new" on the T410.

Get a 15" T60 with IPS (the best LCD screen ever) for $500 is a even better choice.

Most of the stuff you don't understand is useless for your application anyway. :)
